Dr Amel Makhlouf provides both advisory and litigation support in banking and finance.

She represents individuals and organisations before the French civil (Tribunal judiciaire) and commercial courts (Tribunal de commerce) in a full range of financial disputes, including at the appellate level.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • The drafting, review and negotiation of financial and corporate transactions

  • Banking fraud: spoofing, vishing, phishing, smishing, wire transfer scams, etc. 

  • Lender liability: negligent misrepresentation, business or lending practices

  • Disputes relating to the all-in effective rate (French taux effectif global, "TEG")

  • Consumer Protection and over-indebtedness

  • Pre-litigation negotiations

  • Mediation and arbitration

  • Settlement of conflicts

Dr Amel Makhlouf is also a lecturer at the Sorbonne Law School (Paris, France) where she teaches banking and finance law.
